Phileas Fogg, an easy-going character, easily agrees to a crazy idea just to stay right (although I think he's just bored with retirement life). If you are not a geographer and not a traveler, get ready, about 20 percent of the book is the names of buildings, streets, cities, villages, grandmother's gates and so on. It's quite interesting to read, no matter how strange the journey of 80 days ended for me before it started: it seems they were there, then bang, a couple of trains and they are already 100 km ahead.
