The Naked Macha (1906), a novel in which artistic and autobiographical threads intersect. The female role model that Blasco presents to us is the model of the Chilean Elena Ortuzar, the writer's second wife. We are again witnessing the ascent of the gifted son of the people, Mariano Renovales, who becomes obsessed with the famous Goya painting and persuades his wife to agree to pose as a model for a similar painting.
