"Growth of the Soil" is a novel by the Norwegian writer Knut Hamsun, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature. It was first published in 1917. The book is divided into two parts. A man named Isaac decides to equip a house in the forest, where he will manage his household. The novel describes the suburban life, as well as the experiences and thoughts of the heroes.
